How Dare You Vote!

If you have not mastered Frédéric Bastiat's "What Is Seen and What Is Not Seen," how dare you vote! How arrogant of you to presume to set rules for everyone else! Do something constructive on election day: stay home and mind your own business.

I abstained from voting for a while, but now I do vote. I always write in "none" for any elected office, and I always vote against any restriction on natural rights (such as establishment or increase of any tax), and I always vote in favor of any loosening of restrictions on natural rights (I voted in favor of decriminalizing marijuana). I'm not shy about telling other people exactly how I vote, and informing them that I consider voting any other way is a violation of my natural rights. If I had my way, how each person voted would be public record, for everyone to view.

Actually, Sheldon, if I had my way, we would be living in a libertarian anarchist society, where people were not allowed to have their will imposed on other people. To my mind, the root of all evil is not the love of money, it's the desire to have your will imposed on others.
