The Gig Is Up
My 15-year gig editing The Freeman will end September 30. I'm looking for a full-time editorial position with an online or paper publication.

Once again, wretched news. Your editorship was the Freeman's golden age.
What happened at FEE? :(
Exciting things are happening in Irvington/Atlanta. FEE will revitalize its efforts by focusing on introducing students (16-24) to free-market economics. The organization decided that someone else would be better suited to edit The Freeman under these circumstances.
Oog. I'm sorry to hear this.
This is shocking and very distressing. Freeman has been a brilliant magazine under your editorship. First Freeman loses Szasz, and now you.
Introducing young people to free-market economics is fine and dandy, but it's too bad the decision-makers thought you couldn't/wouldn't be suitable for that. I know of a few university age persons who appreciate your work.
Richard G.
I'm guessing they decided to turn the Freeman into a vulgar libertarian apologetics mag, and figured you were too radical and thoughtful to be trusted with such a project.
You were key to making that magazine worth reading. Good luck, man.
Best of luck to you sir. You shall be missed
Thanks for your excellent work Sheldon.
That's unfortunate. As a loyal subscriber, I can tell you that your columns have been one of the main reasons I've loved getting The Freeman.
Sheldon,
...Counterpunch needs somebody to take the place of Cockburn. Seeing as you've been published there several times over the years, they might be a home for you.
Sheldon,
Thanks for your great work at the Freeman. I always enjoyed reading your articles immensely.

Thanks, everyone! I'll let you know how things turn out.
Richman,
More and more people are reaching my blog with a Google search for "why was sheldon richman fired" and "sheldon richman quit", etc.
Do the honorable thing for once in your life and disclose the reasons FEE junked you like a half-eaten burrito, because no one is dumb enough to believe that "exciting things are happening" crap (other than your usual followers, who would believe that the moon doesn't exist if you told them so).
