Virtually all commentary about the influx of unaccompanied Central American children into the United States, which some say could rise to 90,000 this year, misses the point: no government has the moral authority to capture these kids and send them back to the miserable situations they have escaped. The op-ed is here.
Proudly delegitimizing the state since 2005
"Aye, free! Free as a tethered ass!" —W.S. Gilbert
"All the affairs of men should be managed by individuals or voluntary associations, and . . . the State should be abolished." —Benjamin Tucker
"You must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself." —James Madison
"Fat chance." —Sheldon Richman
Yet I as a taxpayer will get stuck with the bill for these “refugees“. Remember that not only are the so-called charities who take in these children are paid contractors of the US government but they will also next be put into the school and medical system where they will steal more of my money.
ReplyDeleteThe better life they want comes from money stolen from the taxpayers.
What about the morals of that?
And please don’t say they are separate issues, they are tied together at the point of a gun.
