Libertarian Party R.I.P.

Re the destruction of the Libertarian Party qua libertarian party, I commend this post by Kevin Carson at Mutualist Blog.

  1. I agree with you. I am a pure, disciplined, uncompromising, passionite, ...in other words, "radical" advocate of liberty. Any political party I can think of is the opposite of me.

  2. I also consider myself a hardcore, radical Libertarian. However, I would point out that the LRC did not achieve most of its goals during the last convention. While many of the planks were removed, that is not to say that down the line they cannot be restored and I highly doubt that the delegates in 2008 will pass any changes to the platform that are not libertarian in nature. I personally plan on being at the 2008 to make sure the platform remains libertarian and to vote for the most hardcore, radical candidate for President.

  3. Mike, you are right. I still stand on what I said, but the last two Libertarian Presidential Candidates (Harry Browne and Michael Badnarik) are truly champions of liberty, not watered-down pseudo-libertarians. Even the main causes of Ron Paul (the Fed v. the gold-standard and the war in Iraq from the beginning) don't agree with a majority of America, but they agree with me.
