Carson on Romney

Here's an excellent article by Kevin Carson on corporatists (i.e., Mitt Romney) in free-enterprise clothing. Do conservatives know that the Keystone pipeline relies on eminent domain?

You and Kevin Carson are the two biggest idiots I've ever read...

"...Extractive industries are among the biggest welfare queens in human history..."

Good-fucking-god. The reason why people hate REAL "welfare queens" is because they don't pay any taxes, all they do is take. Is that true of extractive industries? Well, let's see...

"ExxonMobil in 2011 made $27.3 billion in cash payments for income taxes. Chevron paid $17 billion and ConocoPhillips $10.6 billion. And not only were these the highest amounts in absolute terms, when compared with the rest of the 25 most profitable U.S. companies (see our slideshow for the full rundown of who paid what), the trio also had the highest effective tax rates. Exxon’s tax rate was 42.9%, Chevron’s was 48.3% and Conoco’s was 41.5%. That’s even higher than the 35% U.S. federal statutory rate, which is already the highest tax rate among developed nations."

Will you please just fucking drop dead already? Eh, screw it, it's not like anybody reads your BS anyway.

Apparently you read it, and I thank you deeply. The elevated tone of your comment is also much appreciated.

The point is that the companies reap huge benefits from the socialization of costs, which distorts prices and has far-ranging consequences. The companies apparently find the system worthwhile on net.

The legendary welfare queen pays sundry taxes too.

KPres, on the issue of "welfare queens," corporatism, and taxes, I recommend you read Kevin Carson's article, "The 47% Don't Pay Taxes? Think Again, Mittens" at the C4SS website here.

Also, any hatred of so-called "welfare queens" is simply a manifestation of the slave-on-slave mentality

Thanks for the kind mention, Sheldon.

And thanks for making my day, KPres. Me and Sheldon are idiots, and we can die happy now we've met our king.

Let's see if I've got this right, idiot that I am: You want more people to pay taxes? You don't think people on welfare pay any taxes? You don't think corporations that get more in government benefits and subsidies than they pay for in taxes are welfare queens, just so long as they pay taxes? In that case, why don't the sales taxes paid by people on public assistance count? Please help me, Your Majesty!
